Throughout my course work I believe that the best way to achieve a positive response is to explore a younger audience. Tutorials have also confirmed that this would be the perfect target audience to aim my work at and to do so the best route would to be to explore things such as children's books. Another resource I believe will come in useful is the exploration of body shapes and body studies. I have explored this through life drawing classes and experimenting with art styles. These classes teach the basics of the human form and create a knowledge of key skills such as proportions and body structure. It is up to me as an artist to take this knowledge and expand it towards my own style to reflect my brand.
Body studies is also an important skill to develop as it leads on to character development and how these studies can be used to shape and create a character for a specific audience. To look into this further I should explore classic books such as Lewis Carroll's Alice In Wonderland to see what makes a character memorable and successful throughout a long period of time. For instance to look at how art style through the use of technology and technique has been used throughout history and how the development of style has developed to create the style that exists within the art industry today. Here I have taken the structure of a woman and adapted it around a fashion style. This is one example of how the style of human anatomy can pushed to different contexts. It would be interesting to experiment further with colours and mixed media to see how this design could be pushed more. Additionally I will look into how human structure can be explored through other art styles for different audiences like for that of childrens books.
